This past Earth Day, the City of Yorkton and SaskAbilities celebrated our new direction together.
This new partnership brings together key roles that strengthen the recycling system in Yorkton. The City of Yorkton is working with SK Recycles to collect a broader range of household packaging and paper materials, making recycling easier and more accessible for residents.
At the same time, SaskAbilities Yorkton plays a vital role in receiving these materials and preparing them for processing. Through their work, collected recyclables are transformed into high-quality commodities that can be used as raw materials in the manufacturing of new products.
Launching this program on Earth Day highlights the importance of collaboration in building a more sustainable future. It’s a reflection of what can be achieved when communities, organizations, and industry work together toward a common goal.
