About SK Recycles

SK Recycles is the new provincial household packaging and paper recycling program, creating a dynamic recycling network with a common goal.

Partnering with local governments, First Nations, and Métis communities, private companies and other organizations, SK Recycles will gather these materials and team up with businesses and organizations to receive, sort, and recycle, so that all packaging and paper can become new materials. With a vision for Saskatchewan to advance packaging and paper recycling, SK Recycles is committed to providing support and education, while expanding opportunities to make recycling easier and more consistent across the province.

Evolved from Multi-Material Stewardship Western (MMSW)

SK Recycles evolved from Multi-Material Stewardship Western (MMSW) which launched its program in Saskatchewan in January 2016. The provincial recycling program for packaging and paper, and therefore our responsibility, is shifting from a shared responsibility model (funding only) to a full extended producer responsibility model (funding and operations) by 2027.

What We Do

SK Recycles continues to help obligated businesses meet their requirements under the Household Packaging and Paper Stewardship Program Regulations. Our members include retailers, restaurants, importers, manufacturers, distributors or wholesalers and any organization that supplies packaged goods and/or paper and flyers to Saskatchewan residents.
