2025 marked the first year of the program’s 4-year rollout plan to transition Saskatchewan’s recycling program to a full extended producer responsibility framework.

In its first year of transition, SK Recycles expanded recycling access and accepted materials, increased resident participation and helped drive national collaboration toward more consistent and recyclable packaging systems, with more communities set to onboard over the next few years.
