In 2023, prior to evolving to SK Recycles, the ongoing commitment to Saskatchewan’s paper and packaging recycling program continued.
Participation rates remained steady, though average kilograms per capita decreased slightly from the previous year. This is the fourth year of providing an accounting of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the delivery of recycling services to residents, as reported by collection partners.

In 2023, SK Recycles achieved the environmental outcomes it set out, sending both more and the highest percentage of material to a recycling end market then ever before in the program’s history.
