Happy Canada Day, SK!
This Canada Day, we’re reflecting on what’s possible when Saskatchewan helps shape the future of circularity in Canada.
From launching full EPR for packaging and paper to expanding what residents can recycle at SARCAN depots, SK Recycles is helping build a stronger recycling system here at home while contributing to national collaboration on better packaging design.
EXPANDING ACCESS ACROSS SASKATCHEWAN
In partnership with SARCAN, SK Recycles expanded depot recycling to all 73 SARCAN locations, where residents can now recycle flexible plastics, foam packaging and non-deposit glass bottles and jars. That’s a made-in-Saskatchewan improvement we can be proud of.
HARMONIZATION OF ECO PACKAGING DESIGN ACROSS CANADA
SK Recycles is also part of a first-in-Canada collaboration with Circular Materials, Éco Entreprises Québec, Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba and Recycle BC to develop harmonized ecodesign guidelines that support more recyclable packaging and paper products across Canada.
This work helps lay the groundwork for a more consistent national approach to packaging recyclability—giving producers clearer guidance across provinces and helping strengthen the circular economy across Canada.
