About SK Recycles
- - - SK Recycles is a non-profit organization responsible for managing the recycling of household packaging and paper across Saskatchewan. Working with producers, collectors, municipalities, First Nations, Métis communities, and residents, SK Recycles ensures household materials are collected from households and depots, sorted and responsibly recycled. Our program is funded by over 550 businesses that include retailers, manufacturers and restaurants that supply packaging and paper to Saskatchewan residents, shifting costs away from homeowners.

2023 Annual Report Now Available

We continue our ongoing commitment to Saskatchewan recycling programs and have recently published our 2023 Annual Report.

2023 highlights include:

More than 35,774 tonnes collected, resulting in a recovery rate of 64.5%.
More than 88% of collected materials were diverted from landfills, an increase from the previous year.
85% of Saskatchewan households participate in the MMSW program.
Introduction of the new ‘Household Packaging and Paper Stewardship Program Regulations, 2023’ and MMSW’s work to date to prepare for a full EPR program in Saskatchewan.
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with province-wide recycling activities totaled 9,271 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
