Get Your Recycling Ready
Getting your materials prepared for your SARCAN depot trip is quick and easy!

How to Collect
Empty and clean! Sort and separate items at home before bringing to SARCAN. Prepping your items makes returning easier and faster.

How to Recycle at SARCAN
Recycling these materials at your local SARCAN depot is quick and easy! When you get to the depot, look for SK Recycles signage and the bag stand station with receptacles for flexible plastics, white foam packaging and coloured foam packaging. Glass can be returned over the counter to a SARCAN Recycling employee.
Preparation Guidelines
Flexible Plastics
Ensure the items are clean and empty, then bag flexible plastics together. Stickers, tape and paper labels adhered to the plastic are okay.

Non-Deposit Glass Bottles and Jars
Remove the lids and ensure items are clean. Collect non-deposit glass with your deposit glass containers in a cardboard box or something similar.
Foam Packaging
Ensure the items are clean, then collect white foam together and coloured foam together. Labels, tape, paper, and liquid absorbing pads need to be removed.
Hand Non-Deposit Glass Bottles and Jars to a SARCAN Recycling employee to prevent them from breaking.
Before You Visit a SARCAN Depot
Hit your dirty materials with a rinse!
At the depot, take the caps and lids off glass bottles and jars and place them in the cap receptacle provided.
Sort your materials into the three recycling categories
Foam, flexible plastics, and non-deposit glass. Reuse packaging like bread or produce bags to bundle flexible plastics and save space. Keep foam intact, and ask a SARCAN employee for help if it doesn't fit in the bag stand.
