In Saskatchewan, paper and packaging materials account for 40% of household waste.

Finding ways to reduce waste is an increasingly important part of minimizing our impact on the environment. Recycling diverts waste from landfills, conserves resources and energy, and feeds the ever-growing green economy.

SK Recycles in collaboration with municipalities, First Nation and Métis communities, and Regional Waste Authorities, through curbside and multi-family recycling collection services, prevents packaging and paper from being sent to landfills.

By recycling, we reduce the burden on our environment by reducing the need to extract more natural resources.

Using recycled packaging and paper requires less energy than processing virgin materials. This conserves both processing and transportation energy, helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
